CBI files FIR against 6 over ‘visa fraud’

THE CBI has enlisted a FIR against six people, including two Nearby Regulation Officials (LLOs) who prior worked with the visa branch of the French Consulate, regarding a supposed visa misrepresentation.


"The charged people have been recognized as Shubham Shokeen and Aarti Mandal, prior filling in as LLOs in Visa Division of Consulate of France, New Delhi, and Navjot Singh, Chetan Sharma, Satwinder Singh Purewal and Manpreet Singh," said a representative for the CBI. "It was claimed that Chetan and Satwinder from Punjab and Navjot from Jammu had submitted fashioned letters on September 8, 9 and 13, purportedly composed by a privately owned business situated in Bengaluru to the department of France, Bengaluru for giving section visas, for their joining privately owned businesses in Port-Le-Havre, France."

"They were giving without the information and endorsement of their head of visa division. It was additionally asserted that after issuance of section visa, Shokeen and Mandal dislodged/annihilated the reports/documents from the visa division," the FIR said.


"It was claimed that Shokeen and Mandal had contrived with others and executed a visa extortion during the period from January 1 to May 6 this year," the CBI representative said, adding that searches were led on Friday at six areas, remembering for Delhi, Patiala, Gurdaspur and Jammu. "Implicating reports/articles including PC, cell phones, dubious visas have so far been recuperated," the representative said.
