Indians Abroad: First Time Applicants For F-1 US Student Visa Preferred, Others Apply Later

Serve Counselor for Consular Affairs at the US consulate, Donald L Heflin said, "We need the late spring season to be for new candidates ... This late spring when we open for arrangements, on the off chance that you have been rejected previously, you won't get a space."

The people who have been rejected a F-1 Student Visa before can not get a space when the arrangement applications open this mid year, Minister Counselor for Consular Affairs at the US consulate, Donald L Heflin said on Wednesday.

During the 45 moment live visit on the page of the US office general in Delhi, Mr Heflin said the mid year season for understudy visa will open in June and first 50% of July.

"We need the mid year season to be for new candidates. Individuals who have never applied, understudies who have quite recently completed secondary school and need to go for graduation review or understudies who have quite recently graduated and need to go for Masters. This mid year when we open for arrangements, assuming that you have been rejected previously, you won't get a space," Mr Heflin said.

"Later in the mid year from August 15 to September 1, around 15,000 arrangements will be accessible for individuals who have either been rejected this mid year or last year. I realize a many individuals are going ballistic about it yet we have been closed down for long considering the pandemic. We didn't have pack of individuals who have been denied prior to applying once more, we have a ton of them now ... thus the choice," he said.

Mr Heflin said that eight lakh US visas were probably going to be given in a year in India in what he would have liked to be a recuperation year for visa activities since the interruptions brought about by COVID-19.
