India West Bengal Governor Vs Babul Supriyo In War Of Words Over MLA Oath

 West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar had selected Deputy Speaker Asish Banerjee as the individual to direct the vow to Babul Supriyo.

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar had selected Deputy Speaker Asish Banerjee as the individual to direct the pledge to Babul Supriyo, the recently chosen individual from the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from the 161-Ballygunge Assembly supporters.

In any case, Deputy Speaker wouldn't control the promise, saying it would be an affront to the Speaker.


Responding to Mr Banerjee being selected to direct the vow, Mr Supriyo tweeted, "For individuals of Ballygunge, who didn't have a MLA for quite a long time since the downfall of Subroto Mukherjee, I would demand your excellency @jdhankhar1 ji to turn around the choice and permit Hon'ble Speaker to manage my vow taking permitting me to begin my work."


In another tweet, Mr Dhankhar stated, "Public area solicitation of Shri Babul Supriyo, chose for the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from 161-Ballygunge Assembly body electorate looking for Governor for organization of vow by Hon'ble Speaker isn't satisfactory as not being in consonance with the Constitution."


"April 27 correspondence @SuPriyoBabul, eleven days after issuance of Certificate of Election, to Hon'ble Speaker for his vow as MLA is jurisdictionally defective and unwholesome optics as Speaker plays no part or established skill regarding this situation, except if so doled out by Governor", added the Bengal Governor.


The Ballygunge Assembly seat bypoll was required after the destruction of state Minister Subrata Mukherjee. Surveying for one parliamentary body electorate Asansol and one get together voting public Ballygunge in West Bengal was hung on April 12.
